FINAL EVALUATION

EVALUATING EXPERIENCE

EXHIBIT SURVEY (AnyPoll)

The exhibit survey will be taken by teens, parents and coordinators. The exhibit survey will provide feedback on the survey experience and the effectiveness of the instructional design of the online exhibit. By providing students and their caregivers the opportunity to provide feedback, the design and experience will be evaluated from the perception of the participant and the observer.

At the conclusion of the exhibit, all of the feedback will be gathered. The goal is to have 90% report a good learning experience and a yes recommendation. The comments on changes to the user experience will be evaluated and implemented with the exhibit the following year.

EVALUATING EFFECTIVENESS

PRE AND POST ASSESSMENT (Epic Form Builder)

The pre and post assessments provide comparison data and measures the effectiveness of the exhibit in teaching media literacy and critical thinking. The assessments are provided prior to participating in the exhibit and in conclusion. Both assessments provide controlled content with the same two videos and two open ended questions. There will be a music video (Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke and Pharell) and a commercial video (Maybelline Push Up Commercial). Teens will be provided with the same questions in both assessments that challenge them to utilize higher thinking to analyze the messaging presented in both videos.

The assessments are coded with an 8 digit number which is the teen's birthdate. Each assessment is matched with the birthdate to compare critical thinking ability. The goal is to have 80% of teens increase their critical thinking skills with more elaborate responses compared to pre assessment.
